During the 2021-2022 academic year, the Youth Challenge program has been developed in Spain, Italy, France and the United Kingdom with 154 volunteers and 1.222 students.

A specific project has been also developed in Portugal to promote access to employment for young people, through 9 mentoring sessions and the collaboration of 13 volunteers from Cellnex Portugal.
Solidary Gift is an initiative of Cellnex volunteers who donate €1 from their paycheck every month to bring help and economic support to a social project.
Acompañamos y formamos a jóvenes que provienen de un contexto social difícil con el objetivo de reducir el abandono escolar, orientarles para construir mejor su camino académico y profesional y aumentar su empleabilidad. A través de las distintas actividades buscamos estimular su interés por la formación continua y les ofrecemos una conexión directa con el mundo laboral a través de la formación y la educación en el ámbito de las telecomunicaciones, la innovación y la tecnología.
¿A quién va dirigido?
Trabajamos con estudiantes de educación secundaria acompañándoles en su orientación académica y promoviendo las carreras STEM. Llevamos a cabo programas con alumnos de escuelas técnicas y de Formación Profesional acercándoles la realidad del mundo laboral y abriéndoles paso hacia a nuevas oportunidades.

Capacitamos a jóvenes y adultos de bajos ingresos y bajo nivel educativo a través de un programa de voluntariado que les ayude a comprender la importancia de finalizar su formación apoyándoles en su acceso al mercado laboral.
¿A quién va dirigido?
Jóvenes de 16 a 30 años que participan en programas de apoyo escolar y mejora de habilidades para la empleabilidad y adultos con un nivel educativo muy bajo, pero con necesidad de acceder al mercado laboral y que necesitan mejorar su autoconfianza y motivación para afrontar este reto.
¿En qué consiste?
Sesiones de mentoring en formato online o presencial de al menos 1 hora entre mentor y jóven asignado. El mentor es un profesional especializado en su área que comparte su experiencia orientando y motivando a personas desempleadas que buscan empleo ayudándoles a lograr sus objetivos profesionales con mayores posibilidades de éxito.

El Senior Challenge es el primer proyecto de voluntariado corporativo en el que los voluntarios son excolaboradores de Cellnex trabajando a favor de los objetivos sociales que promueve la Fundación: conectividad, brecha digital, educacion y empleabilidad.

Conectividad en tu vida diaria
Primer proyecto enfocado al colectivo de la tercera edad con el objetivo de reducir la brecha digital en las personas mayores, un colectivo especialmente vulnerable a esta problemática que puede derivar en una exclusión social. Esta iniciativa quiere acercar a las personas mayores el mundo de las tecnologías de la comunicación y, especialmente, poder ofrecerles conocimientos prácticos en el uso de dispositivos móviles y aplicaciones digitales que les sean útiles en su vida diaria.

Actividades previstas para 2022-2023
Solidary Gift es una iniciativa de voluntarios de Cellnex que donan 1€ de su nómina cada mes para ayudar y dar soporte económico a un proyecto social. Cada dos años los voluntarios tienen la oportunidad de presentar proyectos sociales de ONGs y asociaciones locales que les interesen para votar entre todos los voluntarios un proyecto ganador al cual irá destinado el importe total recaudado. La Fundación Cellnex incrementa la donación con la misma cantidad.
Esta iniciativa social y colaborativa está abierta a cualquier empleado de la compañía. Actualmente cerca de 500 empleados están adscritos a esta iniciativa solidaria en 5 países distintos.
En España se cerró la última campaña de donación en Junio 2022 con una aportación acumulada de empleados de 28.000€ que, junto al Matching Gift de la Fundación, suma un total de 56.000€. La donación se ha realizado al proyecto más votado por los empleados, en este caso, Un Huerto para Todos de la asociación ASPASIM.
Colaboramos con Technovation Girls, un concurso internacional de tecnología y emprendimiento que invita a niñas y adolescentes entre 10-18 años a crear una aplicación móvil como solución tecnológica a un problema social. Las jóvenes utilizan la tecnología como medio para aportar soluciones tecnológicas al acoso escolar, la sostenibilidad y el cuidado de las personas mayores, entre otras.

Actividades del proyecto
A lo largo de 3 meses, entre marzo y mayo de 2022, cada grupo de chicas trabajajó en un proyecto relacionado con la tecnología en el que los voluntarios Cellnex participaron como:
We accompany and train young people who come from a difficult social context with the aim of reducing school dropout rates, guiding them to better build their academic and professional paths and increasing their employability. By organizing different activities, we focus on stimulating their interest in further education and offering them a direct connection to the job market through training and education in the areas of telecommunications, innovation and technology.
Who is the target group?
We work with secondary school students, accompanying them in their academic orientation and promoting STEM careers. We carry out programs with students from technical and vocational training schools, bringing them closer to the reality of the job market and opening the way to new opportunities.
What does it consist of?
These programs aim to promote the development of young people in vulnerable situations through:
– Career fairs where volunteers share with students their educational and professional path, showing them different options and opportunities for the future.
– Individual mentoring to improve youngsters’ personal skills.
– Conferences given by Cellnex volunteers on telecommunications topics intending to broaden their knowledge and offer a curricular improvement and a closer look at the work of a leading tech company.
– Active learning workshops where students put their technical knowledge into practice through learning by doing methodology.
– Visits to Cellnex premises and other control centres offering a complete learning experience to encourage their interest in continuing their training thanks to a better knowledge of the job market.

Mentoring Portugal
We empower low-income and low-educated young people and adults through a volunteer program that helps them understand the importance of completing their education. It also supports them in accessing the labour market.
Who is the target group?
Young people from 16 to 30 years old who participate in school support and employability skills improvement programs, as well as very low-educated adults needing to access the job market and to improve their self-confidence and motivation to face this challenge.
What does it consist of?
One-hour mentoring sessions in online or face-to-face format between mentor and assigned young person. The former is a professional specialised in their area who shares their experience guiding and empowering unemployed job seekers, helping them to achieve their professional goals with greater chances of success.

Senior Challenge is the first corporate volunteering project in which volunteers are former Cellnex employees working for the social objectives promoted by the Foundation: connectivity, digital divide, education and employability.
Activities 2021-2022
First project with the aim of reducing the digital divide in the elderly, a group especially vulnerable to this problem that can lead to social exclusion. This initiative aims to bring the elderly closer to the world of communication technologies and, especially, to offer them practical knowledge in the use of mobile devices and digital applications that are useful in their daily lives.

Activities in 2022-2023
Solidary Gift is an initiative of Cellnex volunteers who donate €1 from their paycheck every month to bring help and economic support to a social project. Every two years the volunteers have the opportunity to present different social projects of local NGOs and associations which they are interested and then vote for the winning project that will recieve the donation. The Cellnex Foundation increases the donation with the same amount.
It is a collaborative social initiative open to any employee of the company and nearly 500 employees are involved in this solidarity initiative around 5 different countries.
In Spain, the last donation campaign closed in June 2022 with an employee contribution of €28,000 which, together with the Foundation’s Matching Gift, it is a total of €56,000. The donation was made to the project most voted by employees, Un Huerto para Todos of the ASPASIM association.
Technovation Girls is a yearly international technology and entrepreneurship competition inviting girls and teenagers aged 10-18 to create a mobile application as a technological solution to a social problem. These young women use technology to provide solutions to face school bullying or promote sustainability and care for the elderly, among others.
This initiative is part of the Technovation Girls global network, an entrepreneurship and technology program led by girls that:
Project activities
Over three months, between March and May 2022, each group of girls worked on a technology-related project in which we Cellnex volunteers were involved through:
Coaching: feedback to the teams of girls about the projects through coaching sessions.
Visits to companies: organisation and accompaniment the girls on guided visits to Cellnex centres.
Jury: evaluation of the projects, encouraging the girls to continue developing and training in this industry.
